9. API Data Usage and Security

PowerOptions Scan provides a REST API that allows authorized third-party developers to access market data and credit spread analysis programmatically. We implement the following security and privacy measures for API access:

• API Key Security: All API keys are hashed using SHA-256 before storage in our database. We never store API keys in plaintext, and keys are only shown once at generation time.
• Request Logging: API requests are logged for security monitoring, rate limiting enforcement, and service improvement. Logs include timestamps, endpoints accessed, and request counts but do not include request payload data.
• Data Retention: API request logs are automatically deleted after 30 days. Rate limit tracking data is cleared hourly.
• Third-Party Distribution: Our API is available through the RapidAPI marketplace, where additional terms and conditions may apply. RapidAPI acts as an intermediary for API key management and billing.
• Data Exposed via API: The API provides access to credit spread opportunities, market data, stock prices, and probability calculations. No personally identifiable information (PII) is exposed through API endpoints.
• No Personal Data Sharing: User account information, email addresses, payment details, and usage history are never accessible via the API or shared with API consumers.

API users must comply with our Terms of Service and API usage terms. We reserve the right to revoke API access at any time for violations of our policies or suspicious activity.
